Xavier Rudd, The Inspiring Musician

Xavier Rudd, the Australian singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and didgeridoo player, has been inspiring audiences worldwide since the early 2000s. Born in 1978 in Victoria, Australia, Xavier Rudd has been described as “an incredibly powerful live performer”, combining contemporary folk and roots-reggae with anthemic rock, Aboriginal culture and spiritual themes. He has performed with some of the world’s most prominent festival stages including Glastonbury, Lollapalooza, and the Montreux Jazz Festival.

Xavier Rudd's Origin

Xavier Rudd began playing guitar and writing songs at the age of 13. Later, he learned to play the harmonica and guitar, and eventually the didgeridoo. He began performing his unique musical style around the time of his first studio album “To let” in 2002. Xavier Rudd had found something special. His combination of delicate songwriting and invigorating jam-sessions were immediately captivating listeners far and wide, and he has remained a strong and respected presence on the international music circuit ever since.

Band History

Since the release of his first album, Xavier Rudd has released eight albums (though 2021). They include “Food in the Belly” (2003), “Sola-Rossa” (2005), “White Moth” (2007), “Dark Shades of Blue” (2009), “Spirit Bird” (2012), “Nanna” (2015), “Storm Boy” (2018), and “Storm Boy Remix” (2020). His albums have achieved critical recognition and continues to capture the hearts of music shoppers around the globe.

Xavier Rudd has performed with a various of talented Australian and international artists and instrument players over the years. These include drummer Lex Felton, bassists Ben Mitcham and Hugh Wilson, guitarists Nicky Bomba and Alex Lloyd, harmonica player Terry Taylor and saxophonist Jake Nicoll. In addition, he has collaborated with a variety of Aboriginal artists, including Bart Willoughby, Djalu Gurruwiwi, Lorraine Miller and Dixi Hall.
