Wilhelmine is a classic rock band with a venerable history, who has been captivating audiences all over the world since the early 1990s. Founded in 1988 in Stockholm, Sweden, the group is made up of six members and founding lead guitarist, John Bruun.

Origin

Wilhelmine began as a side project for Bruun and his then-bandmates members from the punk rock band [Lemonheads, who formed Wilhelmine as a way to explore their collective love of classic rock and 1960s folk. While not initially expecting the project to be successful, the band quickly grew in popularity and over the years released many successful albums and singles that further established their unique sound.

Band History

Throughout their history, Wilhelmine has consistently toured the world with their music. From the beginning, they focused on pushing creative boundaries and pushing the envelope in terms of what classic rock can sound like. Their first few albums were comprised of original material while their later records often featured remastered covers of some of the greatest classic rock hits of all time. In addition, the band also made numerous contributions to various soundtracks and tributes.

Throughout their career, the members of Wilhelmine often changed, with lead guitarist John Bruun remaining a constant. Other members over the years have included singers Adele, Jens Larsson and pianist Karin Thor.

• 1988: Wilhelmine forms with John Bruun, Henry Eriksson, Lily Raven, Adele, Jens Larsson and Karin Thor as members.

• 1992: Adele is replaced by singer/songwriter Mariana Graham.

• 1995: Jens Larsson is replaced by guitarist/percussionist Hakan Engdahl.

• 2001: Karin Thor is replaced by keyboardist/vocalist Elin Kinberg.

• 2004: Henry Eriksson leaves, replaced by bassist/bass synth programmer Sten Strandmark.
