The Ready Set is a pop/punk band based in Indiana, United States that have created a loyal fanbase over the years with their high-energy rock tune. Formed in 2008, The Ready Set has been creating a name for itself in the music industry with lead singer and songwriter Jordan Witzigreuter at its helm.
The Ready Set was founded in 2008 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The band's original lineup featured Jordan Witzigreuter, Carson Kropp, Joe Harvard, and Joey Derer. Witzigreuter has been the band's mastermind and producer since inception, spearheading most of the production and songwriting duties. Witzigreuter cites Green Day, Blink-182, Fall Out Boy, Weezer, and Dashboard Confessional as some of the band's primary influences.
The band released their first full-length album, "I'm Alive, I'm Dreaming" in 2009 to favorable reviews. The album featured the hits "Love Like Woe" and "Happy Without Me" which garnered the band airplay and chart success.
In 2012, The Ready Set released the more mature and melodic "The Bad & The Better" to more fan and critical praise. The album featured the singles "Young Forever" and "Give Me Your Hand", and is widely considered the band's best work. The tour in support of The Bad & The Better saw The Ready Set's broad fanbase.
