The German-born record producer and DJ, Paul van Dyk, is planted in the roots of electronic music since his teenage years. Born in Eisenhuttenstadt, Germany, June 1971, this pioneer played an essential role in the creation and rise of techno and trance music as we know it today.

##Origin and rise

Beginning in East Berlin with his affinity for electronic music, Paul van Dyk started off with early Berlin radio plays and his first residency in 1991. 1992 brought the opportunity for Paul to open for Moby in Tallin, Estonia which was recorded and released as an EP. This success brought Paul van Dyk to the forefront of the German club scene, with his name ringing out all across the country. By 1993, Paul’s own event series, "Ten Years Of Love Parade", was being held.

Paul van Dyk's rise continued in the mid 90s, when he began putting out his own music productions such as his first EP, "Words"(1995) and his first LP, "45 RPM" (1998). These releases helped propel Paul to the international electronic scene, with his music reaching audiences all over Europe, the US, and Asia.

In 2001, Paul released his critically acclaimed album,, "Out There And Back" which spawned hit singles such as "Tell Me Why (The Riddle)" and "Nothing But You". This period marked the peak of Paul's career.
