Discover the Magic of Marc Broussard

Marc Broussard is an American singer-songwriter who, for over two decades, has won fans’ hearts with his one of a kind mixes of Blues, R&B, Soul and Organic Rock. First gaining attention as a Southern Louisiana native, Broussard has since made a name for himself as a cornerstone of American music, with a touring history that has seen the artist travel around the world.

Musical Origins & His Introduction to the World

Born in 1982, Broussard grew up in a family that encouraged and nurtured his love of music. Already having grown up listening to the likes of Elvis, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin and Marvin Gaye, Broussard began songwriting and craft his own sound at the age of fifteen. His official debut album of the same name, “Momentary Setback,” came in 2002 and was almost immediately embraced by fans as a bluesy, rock-oriented work, rising to the #11 position on Billboard’s Heatseekers chart.

Throughout the 2000’s, Broussard released hit after hit, channeling his unique sound which blended his love for soul, funk, blues, and rock into something that was truly his. In the period that followed he released his breakout album “Carencro” in 2004, followed by two more solo albums and two major releases with his band, The Wayward Saints.

His Bandmates & Extended Discography

The Wayward Saints—and by extension, Marc Broussard—consist of a rotating cast of members, including bassist Gary Jeffries, drummer Shaun Ryan and guitarist Violin Red. With the band’s help, Broussard has released two further albums “S.O.S. Stadium Rock, Vol. 1” and “S.O.S. Stadium Rock, Vol. 2” – cultivating a devoted fanbase in the process.

Broussard has since released four additional albums; “Keep Coming Back” from 2008 and “Marc Broussard” (2010,) which includes hit single “Lucky” and “A Life Worth Living” from 2014. Longstanding fans may be interested to know that Broussard released his last album “Easy to Love” in 2019.

Influences & Comparable Artists

In the years since its 2002 debut, Broussard’s sound has drawn comparison to classic artist such as Al Green and Van Morrison – the former of whom he cites as a key inspiration. Mostly recently, fans have noted similarities between Broussard and modern stalwarts of rock and soul such as John Mayer and John Legend.

Notable Tracks

Accompanying a discography that is hard to do justice to via a few words, Broussard has also released some real gems that stand out even amongst a stellar catalogue. Fans of the artist should definitely check out lead singles from “A Life Worth Living”, such as “Hurricane Heart” and “Hard Knocks.” Broussard’s sound is truly unique and for the uninitiated, the easy-going hit “Lucky” is the perfect introduction.
