Little Jesus: Latin Indie Rock Band with a Long-Standing History

Little Jesus is one of Latin America's most acclaimed indie rock bands, originating from Mexico City in 2008. This quintet is made up of [Edwin's Corvera] (vocals, guitars and keyboards), [Rodrigo Blanco] (vocals, guitars and keyboards), [Pedro Arenas] (bass, backing vocals), [Francisco Castro] (drums and percussion) and [Yair López] (guitars).

They have infused Latin rock and indie flavors, while also experimenting and creating a truly unique sound. Their latest album “Río Salvaje” was released in 2018 and was well-received worldwide, securing nominations to several music awards, and winning multiple awards from various magazines and music blogs.

With more than 10 years of history, and five critically-acclaimed albums, Little Jesus has established itself as a Latin American and international indie rock sensation.

The band's history begins in 2008, when Edwin and Rodrigo began collaborating musically in their hometown of Mexico City. After spending the first year of their career writing and recording songs on their own, they realized they needed additional members to complete their sound.

In 2009, Pedro, Francisco and Yair joined the band. Since then, they have released several EPs, five full-length albums, and countless singles and collaborations. Their music has been featured in major media outlets and television, as well as touring in major festivals such as Vive Latino and Festival Nrmal.

Little Jesus' sound is reminiscent of other Latin rock greats such as Café Tacvba, Los Bunkers and Los Fabulosos Cadillacs, but their distinct flavor, mixing latin rock, indie and pop, gives them a unique sound that is immediately recognizable.

Their five albums, from 2012's “TQM” to 2018's “Río Salvaje,” present a clear sonic evolution in their work and have been praised for their high quality production, songwriting and catchy melodies. Their latest album was spawned from their collaboration with the renowned Mexican producer, Dave Cooley, whose contributions helped them create a bittersweet, but airy soundscape.
