Origin

JP Saxe was born in Toronto in 1996 and grew up in both the city and the surrounding area. He attended a music school at UCLA in California and was part of the prestigious a capella group, "The SoCal Vocals." After graduating, he moved back to Toronto where he joined a pop-punk band before embarking on his solo career.

In early 2019, JP Saxe released his debut album, Iris in Bloom. The album was well-received by critics and fans alike and was followed by several singles. His most successful and well-known single, “If the World Was Ending”, was released in collaboration with Julia Michaels and went on to become a multi-platinum hit, reaching No.1 on the US Adult Pop Songs chart.

JP Saxe also started writing and collaborating with other artists, most notably Shawn Mendes. As of 2021, he has performed on several tracks, including “Stitches” with Mendes and "Call Out My Name" with Arin Ray.
