Natives of Eastern Europe, Jinjer is an inventive and unique mix of progressive metalcore and groovy alternative metal. Transforming the Ukrainian metalcore scene, they have quickly become a favorite amongst heavy metal fans. Founded in 2009, Jinjer has made a swift and drastic climb to the top of the metalcore food chain.
Just outside of Kiev, three childhood friends Aleksey Kolygun, Eugene Abdukhanov, and Vlad Raduus decided to start a metal act called Jinjer. The band was soon joined by vocalist Tatiana Shmaylyuka in early 2010. During this time, the band wrote, produced, and recorded their first full-length album, “Inhale, Don’t Breathe”. This album brought the members together with a mutual love for progressive metal and alternative rock, and Jinjer created a unique sound that blended heavy crunchy riffs with groovy bass lines and Tatiana's captivating singing voice.
After the release of "Inhale, Don't Breathe," the band began to make their mark on the Ukrainian metal scene. They set off to tour Europe, playing in many different countries. Jinjer is renowned for their high energy live performances and engaging stage presence, especially Tatiana's powerful vocal performances. Over the years, Jinjer has seen many lineup changes. Founder Aleksey Kolygun departed the band in 2013, and was replaced by Roman Ibramkhalilov. The current lineup consists of vocalist Tatiana Shmaylyuka, guitarist Roman Ibramkhalilov, bassist Eugene Abdukhanov, and drummer Vlad Raduus.
Jinjer is known for their ingenious and heavy tracks such as 'Captain Clock,' 'Who Is Gonna Be The One,' and 'Cloud Factory.' With clever songwriting and captivating riffs, they have received worldwide success since the release of their EP, "The House Of Suffering," in 2013. Jinjer released their fourth album, "King Of Everything" in 2016 which included their well-known tracks, 'Words of Wisdom' and 'Ape' - gaining over sixteen million individual views on Youtube for these two tracks alone.
Jinjer stands out from similar metalcore bands, such as Killswitch Engage, Lamb of God and Parkway Drive. They have taken their influences from bands like the Prodigy, Korn and Metallica, to create their signature mix of heavy metal and alternative metal riffs.
Jinjer is an up and coming metalcore band, and proving to be a promising force to reckon with. With years of experience and creation, this Ukrainian outfit has made an undeniable mark on the metalcore scene with their unique and captivating sound.
