Iration is an alternative/reggae group formed in Isla Vista, California in 2004. The group is comprised of six members: Micah Pueschel (lead vocals/guitar), Adam Taylor (bass), Joe Dickens (drums), Cayson Peterson (keyboard/synth), Micah Brown (lead guitar/vocals), and Ka'ihi Seto (sound and production).
Iration’s music is powerful and energizing, combining elements of reggae, rock, and pop from around the world. Their distinctive sound is characterized by groove-based guitar riffs, driving bass lines, and heavy percussion.
The band originally formed as No Use Empty and began performing at local venues as well as UC Santa Barbara. The band changed to the name Iration in 2006, which is a reference to a concept from the Bhagavad Gita about perceiving the energy of the universe in a powerful way.
The band released their debut album, "No Time for Rest" in 2007 on LAW Records. This was followed by their second album, "Time Bomb", in 2010 on their own label, Three Prong Records. Iration experienced great success with this album and their music was featured on MTV2 and on the show, Good Vibes.
Following the success of "Time Bomb", Iration released their most popular album, "Automatic," in 2013. The album featured special guest artists including Don Carlos and was released on their own label, Three Prong Records. Two of their most popular singles, "Reelin'" and "Turn Around" were released from this album.
In 2015 Iration released the album, "Hotting Up," which is a collection of fourteen of their most popular songs from their previous four albums. Since then, the band has released two additional albums: "Double Up" (2017) and "Coastin'" (2019).
Iration has been inspired by a variety of artists over the years, including Bob Marley, UB40, 311, and Sublime. They also draw influence from a variety of electronic, pop, and hip hop artists such as [[Phoenix](https://www.bandsnear.com/artist/phoenix/K8vZ9173X0V)](https://www.bandsnear.com/artist/phoenix/K8vZ9175ix7), Flume, and Wiz Khalifa.
