Origins of Hombres G

Hombres G, a Spanish rock group formed in Madrid in 1982, had its beginnings when lead singer and guitarist David Summers, drummer Rafael Gutierrez and bassist Javier Molina, who were only teens at the time, started to perform together choose the name “Hombres G.” It was quickly adopted by their peers and fans, becoming a household name in the early 80s Spanish rock scene.

Band History

In 1983, Hombres G released their self-titled debut album, which was followed by 1985's hit “Venezolana.” At that same year, the band released the well-known single "Devuélveme A Mi Chica" after David Summer wrote the song as an ode to the love of his life. The song was an immediate hit and continues to reach new fans decades after.

In 1990, their album “Vivo” was a huge success and was followed by their second hit album “Suercé”, afterward, the band moved on to perform during an extensive tour that ran for two years.

In 1993, Hombres G released their seventh studio album. This album featured their well-known single “Depende De Ti”, and since then, the band is considered one of the biggest acts in Spanish rock music.

Members Chronology

Hombres G have gone through various lineup changes over the years. In 1991, Jesus Abalos joined the band. From 1994 to 1994, they had the percussionist Iñigo “Pbtelon” Paz, who left the band the following year. During the mid 90s, they had their first tour abroad, performing in over 20 countries. In 1998, their last original member Rafael Gutierrez left the band, although he continued to collaborate with them for several years.
