Hailing from the creative hotspot of Amsterdam, the dynamic Dutch-pop trio, HAEVN have become a key staple in the alternative music scene. Consisting of members Marijn van der Meer and Jaap de Witte who write and produce the band’s albums, they are joined by vocalist/lyricist Wallis Bird.
Formed in 2013, HAEVN have made some serious waves on the alternative music scene, receiving critical acclaim for their sound within the Netherlands and abroad. In the same year they embarked on their first headline tour and they released their first EP ‘We Are' which included the hit single ‘Finding Out’.
The band gained greater recognition in 2015 with their debut album ‘Eyes Closed’, for which they received multiple nominations for awards in the pop and rock categories including the Dutch Music Award Prix De Originale.
The band followed up their success in 2017 with the duet 'Bright Lights', recorded with the Australian artist Julia Stone. The song was well received and charted in different countries as well as being featured in multiple series on Dutch television.
Marijn van der Meer is the band’s guitarist, pianist and producer. Jaap de Witte plays bass guitar, synth and is another producer of the band while Wallis Bird completes the trio as the lyricist and vocalist.
HAEVN have a number of acclaimed songs, the most popular being ‘Fortress’, ‘Bright Lights’ and ‘Finding Out’, all of which have enjoyed radio and video success. Other hits by HAEVN include ‘Good Love’ and ‘Back in the Water’.
HAEVN draw great levels of influence from bands such as London Grammar, Of Monsters and Men and Birdy. Also, for their blend of multifaceted pop, alternative, electronic and folk sounds, their fan base often features fans of Ed Sheeran and Aurora.
Since HAEVN’s formation back in 2013, the Dutch band from Amsterdam have continually produced hits, enjoyed awards, maintained chart positions and become mainstays of the alternative music scene. Their unique blend of music styles, thought provoking lyrics and instrumental prowess has kept them at the centre of contemporary music, making them the perfect act to fill any concert venue.
