Frog Leap: A Brief History

Frog Leap is a four-piece progressive rock and indie rock band that have been on the music scene since the early 2000's. This London-based four-piece is a melting pot of influences, with their music heavily influenced by indie-rock, post-punk and British electronic music.

Origin and Formation

Frog Leap was formed in London, England by lead singer and songwriter Rory Bishoppe and bassist Philip Boon in 2003. The two were later joined by guitarist John Somers and drummer Harry Styles who provided the final pieces to the puzzle.

Band History

Frog Leap's early years were filled with non-stop touring and recording activities, steadily building a fan base with explosive and entertaining concerts throughout Europe. In 2006, their debut album, "Lemon Meringue", was released to both critical and commercial acclaim. The album was praised for its clever lyrics and sonic exploration of post-punk and progressive rock.

The band's lineup changed in 2008 when Somers left the band and was replaced by the talented and dynamic James Stevens. But the new lineup would retain the band's unique sound and the band continued to tour extensively after the lineup changed.

In 2011, Frog Leap released their third album, "Earthquakes and Sharks". The record was met with glowing reviews and was heralded as a modern classic. Tracks such as "Angels Falling" and "Lilies in the Ocean" showcased a composition which straddles genres and styles and integrate them seamlessly into their sound.
