Founded in 2003, [Banda MS](https://www.bandams.com.mx/) is a Mexican music group with a long tradition of delivering influential music to Latin communities. The band has gained fame throughout Latin America and around the world due to its fusion of regional styles, such as banda, mariachi, norteño, and pop.
The band was initially made of nine members, all of them coming from several highly successful bands in the region. Their primary influence comes from their home state of Sinaloa, renowned for its world-famous banda music.
From their early beginnings, the band was already making waves in the Mexican music industry, performing in sold-out shows in all of Mexico and across Latin America, performing at the State of Mexico's Fiestas Patrias and the famous Carnaval in Durango.
In 2009, Banda MS released the song El Color de Tus Ojos, which garnered the band attention throughout Latin America. They followed it up with a series of successful albums, including their 2012 hit Vas a Llorar por Mi.
The nine original founding members included lead vocalist Omar (2003-2012), Freddy Quesada, Carlos Barrasa, Manuel Gallardo, Jesus Ibarra, Óscar López, Mario “Riky” Lopez and brothers Juan, and Jesus Serrano Espinosa.
The group then shifted to the first five members listed above and later in the same tour added Saul “El Caguamo” Huerta and Sixto “El Cachorro” López in 2009. Later on, Sixto became the leader of the band, although he continues to tour with it.
In 2017, poncho became a new member of the band, replacing original founding member Omar Sanchez who had left in 2012.
Some of the band's most famous songs include the 2009 hit El Color de Tus Ojos, Vas a Llorar por Mi, Me Gusta Todo de Ti, Amor Express, Ven a Mi, and Ensename a Olvidar. They have also released several albums such as Corran las Gallinas, Musicalmente Hablando, and Se Nuestro Padre.
