Armin van Buuren: A Look at Dutch EDM Music Producer

When it comes to Dutch artists pushing the boundaries of electronic dance music, one name that immediately springs to mind is Armin van Buuren. Born Armin Jozef Jacobus Daniël van Buuren on December 25, 1976 in the Netherlands, Armin is one of the world's most beloved EDM producers.

Origins

Armin experienced a musical upbringing from birth. He commenced his musical studies at the age of four, and by the time he was 15, he was DJing professionally. Six years later, in 2001, he released his first full-length solo album, and has released seven more since then. He's won more than 25 international awards, including a Grammy nomination.

Band History

When Van Buuren released his first single in 1995, "Blue Fear", it marked the start of something special. It was the first in a long line of releases – Van Buuren became one of the most successful Dutch artists in the dance music scene, with four of his albums topping the Dutch Album Charts.

His third album, "Imagine" (2008), led to further global recognition. With this album, Van Buuren achieved another first, making him the first Dutch DJ to reach No.1 on the Billboard Dance Charts.

In addition to his solo career, Armin has several collaborations to his name. He has worked with artists such as Tiesto, Markus Schulz and Ferry Corsten, who have helped him to create and produce new works.
